Australian Florin and Sixpence Pendant
Fair Dinkum this pendant is almost more than a koala can bear!
This beautifully hand crafted pendant is made from an Australian Florin Coin on the outside and an Australian Sixpence in the middle. It really is a work of art.
Minted in Melbourne and Sydney.
The obverse of the coin features a denticalled outer rim and with the image of Australia’s, (England’s), monarch at the time.
The reverse of the coin has a denticalled rim and features the Australian Coat of Arms as issued by KEVII in 1908, with the words “ADVANCE AUSTRALIA” in a scroll at the base of the Coat of Arms, “ONE FLORIN – TWO SHILLINGS” above the Coat of Arms, and the date underneath with ornaments either side.
The Australian sixpence obverse features the bare head of the monarch of the time.
The reverse shows the word ‘SIXPENCE’ and the Australian Coat of Arms. A kangaroo and an emu hold a shield, with a star above. Below is a scroll with the words ‘ADVANCE AUSTRALIA’, then the date underneath.
