UK Trade Dollar Guardian Bell
This beautifully hand crafted guardian bell has been made from UK Trade Dollar coins.
The British Trade Dollar was designed by George William De Saulles and minted from 1895 for Hong Kong and the Straits Settlements. But after the Straits dollar was introduced to the Straits Settlements in 1903, it became exclusively a Hong Kong coin produced until 1935.
What is a guardian bell?
A guardian bell, when given as a gift, can bring good luck. Traditionally a guardian bell was given to a Harley Davidson motorbike rider. It is designed to be hung on the bottom of the bike to ward off evil road spirits. A guardian bell also makes a beautiful, unique, gift for any reason. They make a great housewarming gift or even a gift to celebrate the birth of a baby.
